3045197 - 1H-2021: MDF feature - Object Categories in Metadata Framework

• You can't modify the object category of standard or pre-delivered objects. Position is a standard or pre-delivered object.
• You can't configure the object category as Non-User Transactional because the external code field is of type User.
• You can't configure the object category for cust_XXX because the Effective Dating is "From Parent".
• Not able to change the object category for standard pre-delivered MDF object

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
• Metadata framework (MDF)

1) Go to  Configure Object Definition.

2) Search for a pre-delivered object. For example, Position.

3) Choose Make Correction and select Technical from the Object Category dropdown. Choose Save.

==> An error message is displayed= "You can't modify the object category of standard or pre-delivered objects. Position is a standard or pre-delivered object.

Similar error statements as mentioned in Symptoms section above.

Regarding Object Category field in Configure Object Definition, Kindly refer to : Basic Configurations in Object Definition | SAP Help Portal 

The following object categories are supported:

• Uncategorized
• Configuration
• Non-User Transactional
• User Transactional
• Technical

As the message says - You cannot modify the object category of standard or pre-delivered objects (for example - Position) 

In additonal:

• When the Effective Dating of an object is set to From Parent, the parent's object category is automatically inherited by the object.

• For an object of type User or RBP Subject User Field, the object category must be set to User Transactional.
