3045906 - Technical error during activation after creating a sales area

You can enhance your organizational structure by using the Organizational Structure app to create a new sales area based on an existing entity. When you activate the enhanced content, the following error message is displayed: “A technical error has occurred during activation. SAP is working on the same and will restart the system once the error has been resolved”.

When creating a new sales area (sales organization - distribution channel - division) based on an existing entity, the function inherits data from the existing entity. This also applies for the pricing procedure determination, which is the configuration for how the system determines pricing procedures for sales documents. This configuration is based on the combination of sales area, customer pricing procedure, and document pricing procedure to which a pricing procedure is assigned.

The entry of the pricing procedure determination which has been used to create an entry for the new sales area has no pricing procedure assigned. As the pricing procedure is a mandatory setting, during content activation, the system raises an error.

Ensure that a pricing procedure is assigned to the sales area that you reference when creating a new sales area.

1. 1. Go to the Set Pricing Procedure Determination configuration activity.
   You can find this configuration activity by using the search function in your configuration environment.
