3046487 - Spaces or Gaps before and in between Serial Number in Inbound Deliveries and Inbound Delivery Notifications

You observe system triggers error whenever there is a space before (spaceZ3) and in between Serial Number (Zspace1) in an Inbound Delivery/Inbound Delivery Notification.*Z refers to Serial Number id

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Inbound Logistics Work Center
2. In common tasks, select Customer return notification
3. Click Next
4. Maintain Relevant Delivery Notification id  enter product id for all 3 line items 
5. Maintain Serial numbers for all 3 line items as for example (Zspace1, Z2space, spaceZ3)
6. Click Check Consistency
7. Error appears
8. Serial ID Z 1 not valid
   Serial ID Z3 not valid

This is not allowed.This is how the system is designed not to consider the spaces entered before and no space is allowed in between as well.

Note: For case Space after Serial Number, System  does not show up as an error since the space is removed in the back end before the validity of the serial number is checked.
 Therefore, the validation encounters no issues so no error appears.
 This is expected behavior.
