3046594 - Import jobs are deleted after rebuilding the model in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• When trying to make changes to any of the models that import from SAP BW data, if make a change like delete any dimension, press rebuild, after the rebuild is successful, notice that the import jobs have been deleted.
• Issue can be reproduced by importing the package from customer to internal tenant. But during test, even do not delete any dimension as mentioned by customer, the import jobs will also be deleted.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 

1. Import the package from customer into internal test SAC tenant.
2. Go to the imported model, switch to data management tab, notice that there have import jobs exist.
3. Switch to model tab, click rebuild model.
4. Delete a dimension in the process of rebuild. When test, it is found that even do not perform this step, issue can also be reproduced.
5. After rebuild finished, notice that all import jobs disappears.

• This is product design.
• Rebuilding has the potential to modify the entire model structure, and there is no guarantee that mappings created in any subsequent import jobs are still valid for the rebuilt model. As such, only the original datasource (provided it still exists), is recreated afterwards, as stated in the warning dialog prior to rebuilding.

• Either create a new model with the new datasource, so that it may persist after rebuilds, or re-import the desired datasource following rebuilds in the original model.
