3046914 - The error "Role Account for XYZ not permitted; legal competence not set in master data" is displayed while canceling a Service Confirmation

Symptom

While maintaining a Reason for Rejection for a Service Confirmation, the system shows error "Role Account for XYZ not permitted; legal competence not set in master data".

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Field Service and Repair Work Center.
  2. Go to the Service Confirmations View.
  3. Select the Service Confirmation ABC (ABC represents the service confirmation ID).
  4. Open, Select View All.
  5. Navigate to General tab. 
  6. Maintain Reason for Rejection.
  7. Click on Save.

System shows error "Role Account for XYZ not permitted; legal competence not set in master data" (XYZ represents the Account ID).

Cause

The Legal competence is not set in the account.

Resolution

It is required to mark the Legal Competence checkbox in the account master data and then update the Service Confirmation through a dummy change in order to remove the inconsistency.

  1. Go to Account Management Work Center.
  2. Go to the Accounts View.
  3. Search for the Account XYZ. 
  4. Open, Select View All.
  5. Navigate to the General tab.
  6. Mark the checkbox for Legal Competence.
  7. Select Save.
  8. Go to Field Service and Repair Work Center.
  9. Go to the Service Confirmations View.
  10. Select the Service Confirmation ABC (ABC represents the service confirmation ID).
  11. Open, Select View All.
  12. Navigate to Service and Spare Parts.
  13. Add a reason for rejection for one of the items and click Save. 
  14. Remove the same reason for rejection and again Save. 

It will be now possible to add the reason for rejection on header level and save.
