Symptom

  • Job using HANA source and targets fails with error:
    DBS-070106: |Data flow <Data flow name> <ODBC driver> does not support function <cast>. Check your dataflow.
  • A column mapping contains syntax where the cast() function is being applied twice to the same column.
  • Attempting to display optimized SQL for the failing dataflow returns the same error
  • The error does not occur if the option HANA_CALCVIEW_OPTIMIZER = FALSE is added to the [AL_Engine] section of dsconfig.txt
