3050445 - Error 3193 suggests incorrect size to extend the database - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • While loading a transaction dump taken from a database that has had a shrink operation to reduce the size of a data allocation, the following message can be raised if a log page refers to a data page that resides in a hole:

Msg 3193, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
Database 'mydb' does not have space allocated for page <pageno> from the dump. Extend the database by <incorrect size> MB and retry the command.

  • Note, this invalid megabyte size can be printed for State 1 as well as State 2
