3051007 - Incorrect Error Message on Time Off ESS UI "There is no favorite time type configured with the associated time account for this user"

The Balances Section on Time Off ESS UI displays the message "There is no favorite time type configured with the associated time account for this user"

However, when you check the associated users Time Profile, there are time types marked as "favorite".

Employee Central, Time Off

1. Configure Time Profile with a Time Type marked as favorite = Yes
2. Check that user has a time account with a balance for the associated time account type
3. Login as the user / proxy as the user, navigate to Time Off ESS UI
4. Check Balances Section, which displays message "There is no favorite time type configured with the associated time account for this user"

Time Object necessary to view Balances such as "Time Account Posting Rule" Object is Secured and View Permission is missing for employee.

Viewing the available balance and balance overview sections on the UI needs the following Time Object Permissions:

• Under Manage Time Off > Time Account > View permission
• Time Management object permissions > Time Profile > View
• Time Management object permissions > Time account > View
• Time Management object permissions > Time account detail > View
• Time Management object permissions > Time Account Posting Rule > View

In case balance cannot be shown due to missing permission, we should specify it as such and have distinct messages.

Only if the reason is really that no favorite time type is configured, the original message should appear.

Our Engineering Team are working on correcting this error message to reflect that the root cause is a missing permission.

To solve the issue, please grant the "View" permission for the "Time Account Posting Rule" Object or related missing Time Off object permission to the employee self role.

Additional Balance Display Issues when Time Object Permissions are missing:

With the missing permission there are places where the balance just shows as "0", but actually this conveys misleading information.

The balance is not "0", you are just not allowed to see the balance due to missing permission.

The engineering team are working on improving the behavior here, for example so that the balance just shows as blank and an info message that permission is missing.
