3051029 - Unavailable LDAP server counts against maximum failed logins - ASE

Symptom

  • sp_passwordpolicy is set to the following:

    Policy_option                  Curr_value   
    ------------------------------ -------------
    maximum failed logins                    10  

  • Logins are authenticated using a LDAP server
  • As shown in error log the primary URL becomes active.
         kernel  LDAPUA: The Primary URL state has been set to 'ACTIVE'.
  • If the LDAP server is not running, failed connection attempts are counted as failed logins
  • The account are locked up due to failed attempts
