This article describes the purpose of the "Meet Any of Criteria for a Background Information Category" option in Talent Search.

Resolution

The purpose of the "Meet Any of Criteria for a Background Information Category" option is to allow multiple values of the same background element in Talent Search.

This option only applies to the following:
  • Different criteria for the same background information category under Advanced Information
  • Competencies under Rating & Competencies

By default, this option is disable.

  • To show results that meet at least one of the criteria (if multiple) for a background information category and Competencies (OR logic), select this checkbox.
  • To show results that meet all criteria for a background information category and Competencies (AND logic), deselect this checkbox.

Supported Use Cases:

For example, you specify the following criteria:

  • Under Basic Information, add Country with the values Germany and USA.
  • Under Advanced Information, add the background information category Language Skills with the values ENGLISH and GERMAN .
  • Under Rating & Competencies, add the competencies Communicating Effectively (with the value from Good to Excellent) and Critical Thinking (with the value from Good to Excellent)

Once the option is enabled, then user can find all employees who:

  • are located in country Germany OR USA (multiple values of one pick-list in Basic Fields)
        OR
  • Have language skills in German OR English
        OR
  • Competencies: Communicating Effectively (from Good to Excellent) OR Critical Thinking (from Good to Excellent)

Once the option is disabled, then user can find all employees who:

  • are located in country Germany OR USA (multiple values of one pick-list in Basic Fields)
        OR
  • Have language skills in German AND English
        OR
  • Competencies: Communicating Effectively (from Good to Excellent) AND Critical Thinking (from Good to Excellent)

NOTE: Different background elements and other search criteria always are connected with ‘OR’; Multiple values of the same background element can be connected with AND/OR.
