3051596 - Error occurs when going to Manage Pending Hires >> Onboarding - Onboarding

Symptom

See error pop-up when going to Manage Pending Hires >> Onboarding.

Error message:

  • While trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.contains(java.lang.CharSequence) of a null object loaded from local variable 'selectProperty' 
  • Cannot invoke "String.contains(java.lang.CharSequence)" because "selectProperty" is null

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Admin Center >> Manage Pending Hires
  2. Select "Onboarding"
  3. See error pop-up

Cause

Disabled HRIS fields are selected as Manage Pending Hires columns.

Resolution

  1. Go to Configure Columns for the Manage Pending Hires  >> Onboarding
  2. Open a new tab >> go to Manage Business Configuration
  3. Check the fields selected as Manage Pending Hires columns >> remove the field which is not enabled in Manage Business Configuration
  4. Go to OData API Metadata Refresh And Export >> refresh OData
