3051992 - SAP HANA takes longer to start after a crash or ungraceful shutdown

Symptom

  • SAP HANA crashed or had a hard shutdown
  • The database is taking longer to restart
  • In the indexserver traces, you can notice entries similar to the following: 
    [77010]{-1}[-1/-1] 2021-04-23 06:14:22.086347 i Logger           RecoveryHandlerImpl.cpp(00757) : Termination of indoubt transactions. (raw page size in bytes to be still rolled back 15844442112 or garbage collected 0)
  • You also notice they’re progressing, and the number of raw pages size in bytes are reducing every time they show up in the trace.
