Symptom
- A Story data source query created from Job Profile Builder with the following joins does not return values for Job Code field. All rows have null or blank data
- Job Profile > Role > Role and Job Code Mapping
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics
Reproducing the Issue
- Login and go to Reporting
- Create a new Story query from Job Profile Builder schema and add a join to Role > Role and Job Code Mapping
- Make sure to add Job Code from Role and Job Code Mapping
- Preview the query
Result: The report returns data for Job Profile and Roles, but the Job Code field is blank
Cause
The Roles linked to the Job Profile have no Job Codes mapped to it.
Resolution
- Check the Job Profile Names returned by the Story query and the Role names attached to it
- Go to Manage Job Profiles
- Verify the Roles mapped to the Job Profile, see if these are correct
- Then go to Manage Job Profile Content > Set Up Families and Roles > Roles and select the Role names returned by the report.
- Check the Mapped Job Codes tab and see if there are Job Codes defined. If there are zero (0) job codes mapped, then the Story query is returning correct data. Story reporting will just retrieve the available data from the module.
** Ensure that Job Codes are mapped to Roles.
