3053908 - Cannot find an existing Model in the Model Information API of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Unable to find the Model The model information as per the User Guide  

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.2.15

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  Open the sample model "BestRunJuice_SampleModel"
  2.  Check the properties:
          - Name:  BestRunJuice_SampleModel
          - Description: Model for the sample story
  3.  Change the Name to BRJ_SAMPLEMODEL  (the ID will remain the same, in this example, "sap.epm:BestRunJuice_SampleModel")
  4.  Save the model
  5.  Get the stories/models information using the url  https://<tenant>/api/v1/stories?include=models
  6.  (Optional, for better readability) Enter the output in a JSON formatter of your choice 
  7.  Search for the Name: BRJ_SAMPLEMODEL, no results are found

Cause

  • The Stories/Models Information API does not show the Names of the Models used by stories
  • The Stories/Models Information API returns the ID and the Description of the Models used by stories

Resolution

  1.  Open the sample model "BestRunJuice_SampleModel"
  2.  Check the properties:
          - Name:  BestRunJuice_SampleModel
          - Description: Model for the sample story
  3.  Change the Name to BRJ_SAMPLEMODEL  (the ID will remain the same, in this example, "sap.epm:BestRunJuice_SampleModel")
  4.  Save the model
  5.  Get the stories/models information using the url  https://<tenant>/api/v1/stories?include=models
  6.  (Optional, for better readability) Enter the output in a JSON formatter of your choice 
  7.  Search for the Description:  Model for the sample story
