Data take-on in is a critical aspect in the implementation of any HR/Payroll system within an organisation.

The attached User Guide details a “best practice” approach to migrating data from a legacy system to SAP,
in order to correctly implement SAP Payroll for Great Britain.

The document is split into a number of sections:
• Payroll Data-Load Concepts
Explains the technical concept of loading payroll data, provides detailed information on the
wage types to be populated and summarises the tools available for the payroll data-load.
 Basic Employee Data
Details the Infotypes that must be loaded for each employee in order to set up a basic
employee record.
• Statutory Payroll Data
Details the statutory payroll information required for each employee. This section
concentrates on the information required for the first go-live payroll run. Both data take-on
at the start of the tax year, and part-way through a tax year are discussed in this section.
• Other Payroll Data
Explains how other, non-statutory, payroll data can be migrated in order to process a
successful first go-live payroll run.
