3056232 - Handling of ledgers in settlement (Run Settlement – Actual)

This KBA explains the behavior after CE2105.

You found in App Run Settlement – Actual, the ledger field is available for some objects but not available for others.

With the delivery of Universal Parallel Accounting in CE2105, settlement for cost objects with a settlement rule created after CE2105 has to be started by ledger. Since we do not expect you as a customer to know during settlement which cost objects have new settlement rules and which do not, we have implemented the following logic for WBS elements and orders*:

• For objects with a settlement rule created before the upgrade, the ledger is not shown on the pop-up which comes up when you choose “run” or “test run”
• For objects with a settlement rule created after the upgrade, the ledger is shown on the pop-up which comes up when you choose “run” or “test run”
• For objects without a settlement rule, the ledger is also shown on the pop-up which comes up when you choose “run” or “test run”

For settlement of projects, the ledger is always shown since a project might contain both, cost objects with a settlement rule created before and after the upgrade.

 *Please note that internal orders are not enabled for settlement by ledger, they will run according to the old logic, i.e. the ledger will not be visible when triggering settlement for internal orders in Run Settlement – Actual.
