3057059 - Mapping HDI Container to SAP Datasphere

Symptom

To request HDI Container mapping in SAP Datasphere, the following information must be provided in a Support Ticket, as mentioned in SAP Help Portal Documentation: Exchanging Data with SAP SQL Data Warehousing HDI Containers:

OptionDescription
SAP Datasphere Tenant ID In the side navigation area, click System →  About.
SAP Business Technology Platform Org GUID Your BTP Organization ID.
SAP Business Technology Platform Space GUID The BTP space inside the organization.

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Resolution

Note¹ The SAP Datasphere tenant and SAP Business Technology Platform organization and space should be in the same data center (for example, eu10, us10 etc.)

Note² If you use a SAP Datasphere Free Tier (CPEA) tenant, check out SAP Note 3227267 - Restrictions in SAP Datasphere Free Tier (CPEA)

  1. Retrieve the information from the URL when navigating to that SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Space in BTP Cockpit:

    https://account.int.sap.eu2.hana.ondemand.com/cockpit#/globalaccount/<GLOBAL_ACCOUNT_ID>/subaccount/<SUBACCOUNT_ID>/org/<ORG_UUID>/space/<SPACE_UUID>/applications

    BTP's ORG_UUID and SPACE_UUID refer to the space where the HDI Container (Service SAP HANA Schemas & HDI Containers, plan hdi-shared) is created.

    Tenant ID is collected in Datasphere, see System About, like mentioned in SAP Help Portal Documentation: Administration Apps and Tools

  2. Create a Support case via SAPforMe providing text template below (adjust the UUID as collected in landscape)

    "As per KBA 3057059, I request mapping between datasphere tenant <Insert tenant URL> and HDI Container:

    SAP Datasphere Tenant ID <Insert here tenant UUID>
    SAP BTP Org GUID <Insert here Org UUID>
    SAP BTP Space GUID <Insert here Space UUID> * "

Note3 You can request the mapping for multiple space UUIDs.

  1. When the mapping is completed, the SAP Support confirms it via ticket;

  2. Follow SAP Help Portal Documentation: Prepare Your HDI Project for Exchanging Data with Your Space for preparing your project. Check out Step 2 from SAP Community Blog for further guidance.

  3. The "Enable Access" button is replaced by the "+" button, that allows you to add HDI containers to your space, only after:

    1. The support team confirms mapping is completed in ticket (Step #2~3 above);

    2. One or more HDI containers have been built on the SAP Datasphere tenant (Step #4 above).
      W
      hen creating the HDI container, specify the Datasphere's database as the backend database.
      Therefore, bind the HDI container to an existing SAP HANA service instance by specifying the GUID in JSON format as follows: {"database_id": "<hana_db_instance_guid>"}

NoteUnmapping is not required in case BTP's Subaccount/OrgID/Space is deleted after mapping.
