3057677 - Story Table shows hash sign "#" instead of blank in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• When an empty member is displayed in a table, instead of showing blank it displays the hash sign "#" in the story of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• There doesn't seem to be an option to change this behaviour.

This is designed behaviour or the SAC table and currently there is no option to change the behaviour.
If you believe a new feature to add an option for the empty member to be displayed as empty would be beneficial, feel free to create an enhancement request as per KBA 2424376.

Meanwhile, as a workaround, a calculated dimension can be added to the table that will display blank when there is not data. For example with a model called "Person" with a dimension "Eye_Colour" a formula that will display as blank instead of "#" can be written like this:

• IF( [d/"Person":Eye_Colour].[p/ID]="#"," ",[d/"Person":Eye_Colour] )

In cases where the calculated dimension is not supported (for example, a BW/BPC live connection), another possible workaround is to set the styling rule for the "#" member and set the color to white in its style:

1. double click a data cell which belongs to the "#" member
2. go to the Styling panel
3. add a new styling rule
4. unselect the checkbox under Data for all the dimensions
5. select the checkbox under Header for this dimension
6. add new style or select an existing style with the font color set to white
7. click OK to apply the styling rule
