The Data Inspector tool is designed for professional user to check raw data for troubleshooting purposes. As of now, the tool shows the technical data mostly.

 Target User

The intended target roles for this tool are:

• Customer System Administrators
• Customer Implementation Team
• Partner Implementation Team
• SAP Customer Support Team
• SAP Engineering Support Team

The Data Inspector tool is not designed for the following roles since it contains technical data and not easy to understand:

• HR Manager
• Employee (Business User)

1.How to Assign the permission for Data Inspector

 NOTE: To implement this solution or workaround, access to the Provisioning page is necessary. As a customer, you don't have access to Provisioning. To complete tasks in Provisioning, please contact your implementation partner or Account Executive. For any non-implementation tasks, please contact Product Support.

Since the Data Inspector is based on OData API: Make sure the "Disable OData API" is unchecked. Customer Action: Customer must provide a written approval for below task (Disable OData API is unchecked)

2.RBP Permissions for OData Metadata

Kindly verify that the following two OData metadata permissions have been granted under Manage Integration Tool.

• • Access to OData API Metadata Refresh and Export 
  • Access to OData API Data Dictionary

 3. Refresh the OData API Metadata in Admin Center.

The OData API Metadata refresh will be executed by background job periodically. In case we cannot see the latest metadata, we can trigger it manually from here. Using OData Inspector Permission for OData Inspector: KBA 2589774 - MDF Object Definition to DB Sync or Refresh Metadata Cache

Assign the Data Inspector permission to a role:

• Go to: Manage System Properties > Data Inspector 

4. How to Check (soft/hard) purge in Data Inspector

• Entity: Choose the Entity we want to check. It could be a table, or system info.
• Filter Criteria: We can filter the data based on conditions, like: Equals, Doesn't Equal, Contains, Greater Than, Less Than, etc.
• Data Table
  • The data will be shown in pages. In the following screen shot, it shows the first page containing 200 records.
  • We can download the data to local computer.

5. How to generate Soft Purge users in Data Inspector

1. Follow the needed details on the screenshot.
