3059093 - FIM Error Checking FIM information: No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate)

Symptom

After updating Java to JDK 8 you receive the following error when checking the Financial Information Management information in the Administration console:
Financial Information Management database error. The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error "No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate)"
