3059317 - Deleted GL Account Shown Under General Ledger Accounts View

GL Account is deleted in Chart of Accounts but this GL Account is still shown under General Ledger Accounts view in General Ledger Work center.

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the General Ledger Work center.
2. Go to the General Ledger Accounts View.
3. Enter the Company and Set of Books and the G/L Account.

The G/L Account is being shown.

G/L Account is deleted from Chart of Accounts by following steps:

1. Go to the Business Configuration Work center
2. Go to the Implementation Projects .
3. Select the Project and Choose Open Activity List.
4. Go to Fine Tune and Find Activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
5. Go to Edit Chart of Accounts.
6. Select the Respective Chart of Accounts and delete the G/L Account.

The General Ledger Account is still shown under General Ledger Accounts View because there are line items associated with it and these line items
are reversed so it is as same as not having any posting and the system has allowed deletion.

Deleting data from the Chart of Accounts would not delete data that has been created as part of a Journal Entry.
Deletion from Chart of Accounts is basically removing it from being used again in future.If the case is that data exists already,
you should really mark the account for No postings Allowed rather than delete it, as deleting it will have reporting implications.

You should follow the below steps to mark the account for No postings Allowed.

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Go to General Ledger Accounts view.
3. Find the respective G/L Account and click Edit > Chart of Accounts.
4. Change the G/L Account Posting Block to 3 - No postings allowed.
5. Click Save.
