3060752 - How to Access a Service/Pod Through a Specific Server in Commerce Cloud

Symptom

There are some scenarios where it is necessary, for troubleshooting purposes, to bypass the load balancer and force access to a specific server (pod).

Some examples:

  • Intermittent slowness/failures were discovered to be noticeable on certain pods only
  • Thread dumps or JDBC logs need to be collected on the same pod where an issue is being observed or replicated
  • A Solr index may have replicas that are not propagated to all pods, and one would like to view its details in the admin console

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
