3061508 - No Data displayed when creating restricted measure calculation using “Version” in combination with version filters in SAP Analytics Cloud

No data displayed when story contains Restricted Measure calculation by constant selection enabled using “Version” dimension with calculation input control & story filter created with “Version” dimension.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

1. Create a story and insert chart or table.
2. Add story filter for dimension “Version”.
   Example: Consider “Version” dimension having 2 members, “ACTUAL” and “Forecast”, where “ACTUAL” has the data and “Forecast” does not have data.
3. Create a Restricted Measure calculation and select the dimension “Version” with calculation input control and select the option “Enable Constant Selection”.
4. Select member “Forecast” in the story filter.
5. Select value "Actual" from calculation input control.
6. Chart does not show the data on selecting “ACTUAL” value in the calculation Input Control even when data exists.

• When selecting the “Forecast” version in the Story filter and “Actual” in the input control, the restricted measure calculation will ignore or remove the page/story filters as constant selection is enabled.
• As per design these filters are still used to select the data for the columns and rows (axis of the cube) and hence no axis member is returned if it has no booked data when dynamic/fixed filters are applied.
• No row or column is then created in the result for this member even if some data value was calculated because of ignored dimensions.
• Hence with “Forecast” filter has empty data with Version dimension on widget axis, as per design an empty result is returned.

This behavior is by design.
