3061508 - No Data displayed when creating restricted measure calculation using “Version” in combination with version filters in SAP Analytics Cloud

• A story contains a Restricted Measure calculation using the Version dimension with Constant Selection enabled.
• A story filter is created for the Version dimension.
• A calculation input control is also created using the Version dimension.
• When selecting Forecast in the story filter and Actual in the calculation input control, no data is displayed in the chart or table.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

1. Create a story and insert a chart or table.
2. Add a story filter for the dimension Version.

   • Example scenario: The Version dimension contains two members:

     • Actual – contains data

     • Forecast – does not contain data

3. Create a Restricted Measure calculation and select the dimension Version using the Calculation Input Control.
4. Enable the option Enable Constant Selection.
5. Select the member Forecast in the story filter.
6. Select the value Actual in the Calculation Input Control.

Result: The chart does not display data even though Actual contains data.

• When selecting Forecast in the story filter and Actual in the input control, the Restricted Measure calculation ignores or removes the page/story filters because Constant Selection is enabled.
• However, these filters are still used to select the data for the columns and rows (axis of the cube).
• If no booked data exists for the selected version after the dynamic or fixed filters are applied, no axis member is returned.
• As a result, no row or column is created in the result even if some data value was calculated because ignored dimensions were used
• Therefore, when the Forecast filter has empty data for the Version dimension in the widget axis, an empty result is returned.

• This behavior is by design.
• When Constant Selection is enabled in a Restricted Measure calculation, page or story filters may be ignored during the calculation.
• However, the filters are still applied when selecting data for the widget axes.
• If the story filter selects a Version member that does not contain booked data (for example "Forecast"), no axis member is returned and therefore no rows or columns are created in the result.
• As a result, the widget displays no data.
