3063498 - The View Original XML Button is Disabled in the Output History of an Invoice

The View Original XML button is disabled in the Output History of an Invoice and you are not able to download the XML.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Customer Invoicing work center.
2. Go to the Invoice Documents view.
3. Open Invoice XYZ and select View All button (XYZ represents the invoice ID).
4. Navigate to the Output History tab.
5. Button View Original XML not active, hence form cannot be printed.
6. Output channel for the Account ABC of the invoice is Internal EDX (ABC represents the Account ID used in the invoice).

The output channel used for this output document is XML.

For output channels other than XML, the system generates a PDF document and sends it to the configured recipient (for example, printer, e-mail, or fax). In such cases, the View Original XML option displays the XML data that was used as the source for generating the PDF document.

For the XML output channel, no PDF document is generated. Instead, the XML payload is sent directly to the recipient through A2A/A2X communication scenarios. If the recipient is external to the system, the XML is transferred according to the configured communication arrangement. For internal scenarios, such as supplier invoice processing, the XML is exchanged through A2A messaging.

Therefore, the View Original XML button is disabled for output documents with the XML output channel and enabled only for output channels that generate a PDF document.

The View Original XML option is available only when the output channel is not XML and a PDF document has been generated for the output document.

For output documents with the XML output channel, the XML content is transmitted directly through the communication arrangement or A2A/A2X and cannot be downloaded using the View Original XML option.
