3063617 - When filtering for a specific date during Dataset creation, the result is empty in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• No data returned when filtering for a specific date while creating a new Dataset based on SAP BW import data connection in SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Filtering for the same date returns back data correctly in RSRT.

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2021.9.2

1. Create an import data connection to SAP BW in SAP Analytics Cloud.
2. Create a new Dataset using the previously created connection.
3. Try to set prompt for Fiscal Year / Period.
4. Enter manually the selected specific values.
5. Observe the Datasets come back empty.

• The Cloud Agent uses the value help of characteristics for validation of variable input.
• For regular characteristics, the values are maintained in the master data table. For time characteristics, the values are generated typically a few years into the past and in the future.
• However, the time interval for the value help can also be defined manually in transaction RSRHIERARCHYVIRT and will be persisted in table RSADMINS.
• The entered value is basically outside of the range which is maintained for the Hierarchy characteristic.

• Updating the Time Characteristics to include the current years should resolve the issue.
