Symptom
When analyzing the performance of the application, you may find that the ratio of outgoing calls to the database to incoming requests from services is very large. Even if individual queries execute in the matter of milliseconds, the overall contribution of all queries can quickly add up to result in a slow request and bad experience for the end user.
This high number of requests to the database for a single service request is most often seen in the form of select statements, but it can also be observed on insert, update and delete. Below is an illustration of the former case.
These symptoms can often be observed with commit statements as well, and they have the same consequences.
