Symptom
- HTML codes are being displayed in message text for Time Off Take rules.
- Links defined in the message definition are not working and displaying the HTML code in Time Off UI.
Environment
Employee Central, Time Off
Cause
It is not recommended to use HTML code in Message Definitions, due to security reasons.
From b2105, HTML tags are not supported in Time Off and cause the HTML code to also be displayed on the UI if message is raised.
Resolution
To correct the issue, we recommend switching the HTML tags currently used to BBCodes as a best practice.
The below solution is not valid in the Time Sheet UI, at the moment Time Sheet does not support BBcodes
Example:
The following BBcode shows how to use line breaks and links that open in a new tab in a message definition.
The below will be displayed as three rows, with the link in the third row named SAP, opening in a new tab.
Message Definition:
"This is the first line of text[br]This is the second line of text[br][xurl=https://www.sap.com]SAP[/xurl]"
Displayed in the UI:
"This is the first line of text
This is the second line of text
SAP"
BBcodes Examples:
If you want to format the text of the message, you can use any of these BBcodes:
