3066711 - [Onboarding] External User unable to upload attachments in PDC/Application Error in PDC when External User uploads attachments (Onboarding/Offboarding)

Symptom

Scenario 1: As a new hire, they are not able to upload documents during PDC steps. The uploaded attachment is always loading. 

Scenario 2: As a new hire, they are able to upload attachments during PDC steps. But an application error is shown only when attachments are added in PDC.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario 1:

  • Login as the external user and click on PDC Tile
  • Add Attachments in any portlet, the field is only loading without getting uploaded in the system

Scenario 2:

  • Login as the external user and click on PDC Tile
  • Add attachments in any portlet, the attachment is successfully added
  • When you submit the PDC step, an application error is thrown
  • If you remove the attachments, you are able to successfully submit PDC

Cause

There is a misconfiguration in your Document Management Services. The following errors could be the possible reasons:

  • Invalid service, please check if DMS has been configured properly
  • Vendor name didn't set up. Please set up vendor configuration through Admin Tool!
  • No vendor is configured on this system! Please configure a vendor on Document Management Service setup page in Admin Center

Resolution

In Provisioning, select the relevant settings based on your requirements:

  • Select only Enable Attachment Manager to enable document management with SAP SuccessFactors storage, without the possibility of OpenText integration.
  • Select both Enable Attachment Manager and Enable Document Management Service to enable document management with SAP SuccessFactors storage by default and integration with OpenText document management service. When selecting to use the Document Management Service, integration with OpenText must be enabled.
