  • End date of work period must be before earliest finish date of task
  • End date of expense must be before earliest finish date of task
  • End date of expense period must be before earliest finish date of task
  • End date of revenue must be before earliest finish date of task
  • End date of revenue period must be before earliest finish date of task
  • Start date of work must be before earliest finish date of task
  • Start date of work period must be before earliest finish date of task
  • Finish date must not be before start date

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to the Business Bydesign tenant
  2. Go to the Business Configuration work center
  3. Access the Overview work center view
  4. Locate and open the fine-tuning activity "Migration of Projects"
  5. Click link to "Migrate projects using the migration tool"
  6. In the next screen, select migration file
  7. Click Execute Migration, then Execute Migration Step by Step
  8. On step 3 - Simulate Import, the errors occur.

Cause

The dates are not correctly set in the migration template.

Resolution

  1. For the project task Start Date cannot be after Finish Date.
  2. On the tab Work, please ensure that the start date  and end date is correct with respect to the corresponding task.
  3. Please set the dates based on the calendar week used. e.g. if calendar with 5 working days is used, then calculate the task dates accordingly.
  4. Please set Start Constraint Type and Finished Constraint Type at least for the non-milestone tasks (“Must start on/at” and “Must end on/at” respectively).Project scheduling has a very complex logic. If Duration is not filled it would be defaulted as 1 and then start and finished dates would not be calculated as desired.
