3069705 - [Onboarding] Resending the Welcome Email to the External User (Onboarding/Offboarding)


The External User forgot their password. Can we resend the External User Welcome Message Template that was sent initially for the external user to reset the password?

Reproducing the Issue

  • The External User has already reset the password from the initial email sent but has forgotten the password
  • Login as the Admin/HR 
  • Go to Email Services > Email Status, find the initial email sent
  • Resend the same email


  • The link associated with the token [[PasswordResetUrl]] which is used in External User Welcome Message Template expires if used once
  • When the External User clicks on this link, it will redirect them to the Login Page


As per best practice, there are only two ways a user can reset their password 1) via Forgot Password 2) via Reset User Password through the Admin

  • To Enable Forgot Password option in the login page, please follow the below mentioned steps
    1. Kindly go to Admin Centre
    2. Search for Email Notification Templates Settings
    3. Enable Reset Password Support Notification
    4. Click on Save Notification Settings
    5. You may refer to the this link for more details on how to reset the password :
  • Reset User Password through the Admin, please follow the below mentioned steps: 
    1. Search for "Reset User Password" 
    2. Select "Reset individual user password (with supplied password)"
    3. Find: External Users from Onboarding and/or Learning (if enabled)
    4. Search with the First Name, Last Name or the Employee code of the candidate
    5. Set New Password for the candidate
