Symptom
Standard pricing tables appear multiple times in the Access Sequence in the Fine Tuning Activity Configure Price Strategy.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Select the Overview view.
- Search for the activity Configure Price Strategy.
- Click on the Access Sequence Hyperlink.
- Select e.g. the Access Sequence Price List with relevance on header level.
- You can see that some standard pricing tables are maintained multiple times. For example:
Sales area specific Price list
Account Hierarchy Specific Price List
Sales Organization/Distribution Channel/Customer Group
While others are only present once. For example:
Product category specific price list
Cause
Even though it might appear that these are the same Pricing Tables, each of these entries has different keys and therefore need to be checked by the pricing engine in the access sequence for each key.
To explain this on some examples:
Product category specific price list:
This is a single key pricing table. The single key is Product Category and therefore the access sequence only runs once with the single key.
Sales area specific Price list:
This is a composite key pricing table which has 2 keys. Sales Organization and Distribution Channel. The access sequence will run twice, once for each key.
Account Hierarchy Specific Price List: the Account Hierarchy can be enabled for 5 levels of hierarchy and for each hierarchy a key exists. The access sequence will run up to 5 times, each time with a different hierarchy level.
Sales Organization/Distribution Channel/Customer Group: This is a composite key pricing table which contains Sales Organization, Distribution Channel and Customer Group. The access sequence will run three times, once for each key.
Resolution
This is the expected system behavior.
