3072204 - ECF VUs fail in fresh installation (VU goes from green to red x)

Symptom

  • Customer is performing a new installation of the Enhanced Communication Framework (ECF) Virtual Unit (VU)
  • ECF Agent VU does not activate
  • In IA, the node for the VU goes from green to yellow! then to red x 
  • The website is not reachable
  • The ECF logs captured the following errors:
    • Failed to initialize connector [Connector[HTTP/1.1-80]] org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: Protocol handler initialization failed
    • The same error could also be referencing another port which is not port 80
