3072684 - Integration Center does not accept special characters in the SFTP User Name field

Symptom

In Integration Center, while setting up Source or Destination Settings, you are getting "Entry not valid" error on giving the SFTP username.

Reproducing the Issue

Create an integration in Integration Center.
While setting up SFTP User Name on Destination Settings you are providing an email ID or special characters.
An error "Entry not valid" appears as below:

Cause

As stated in the Integration Center's guide page SFTP Settings, this is an expected behavior:

SFTP User Name

Your SFTP server must be available from the public internet; otherwise, it will not be available from the SAP SuccessFactors data centers. If your firewall blocks all external access (or allowed access that does not include the SAP SuccessFactors IP addresses), your SFTP server will not be available.

SFTP User Name field supports alphanumeric characters, hyphen, and underscore.

Resolution

Please do not use characters other than alphanumeric characters, hyphen, and underscore in SFTP username field.

If your SFTP has the email ID as default username for SFTP, kindly try to get the username changed or use an SF Hosted SFTP if you have any.

Note: since in some SFTPs a period character "." is part of the username and this can't be changed in the SFTP side, the Integration Center's engineering team has enhanced the integration center feature and have now included the period character (dot) as an exception, so as of 2H23 '.' (dot/period) will be supported.
