3075686 - Cannot create an index on table '', because this table does not exist in database % - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • cross-platform migration from Solaris (ASE 16.0 SP03 PL01 ) to RHEL 8.4 (16.0 SP04 GA)
  • Sometimes a stored procedure produces the following errors

    Msg 1906, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'servername', Procedure 'procname', Line 25:
    Cannot create an index on table '', because this table does not exist in database 'db_owfs'.
    Msg 1906, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'servername', Procedure 'procname', Line 27:
    Cannot create an index on table '', because this table does not exist in database 'db_owfs'.
    Msg 21, Level 20, State 1:
    Server 'servername', Procedure 'procname', Line 30:
    WARNING - Fatal Error 941 occurred at Jul  7 2021  7:59AM.  Please note the error and time, and contact a user with System Administrator (SA) authorization.
    ASE is terminating this process

  • the above errors also trigger a stacktrace in the ASE log :
