Symptom
- When dumping ASE using third party backup API (Veritas netbackup) the ASE dumphist file does not save the exact dump stripe names, hence, at restore times, when using load_sql the load sequence is not correct.
- Note: Netbackup uses the following syntax to dump and load: dump database <database_name> to "sybackup::"
However, when you perform a database or transaction dump, NetBackup for ASE automatically creates a file name for the dump image. You must then specify this file name during a subsequent load operation.
The file naming convention for the database and transaction dumps is the following: sql_server_name.database_name.backup_type.stripe_number.pid.dd-mm-yyyy.hh:mm:ss, which is missing in the dump history file.
