3075877 - ASE dataserver process silently crashing without error on UNIX - SAP ASE

On SAP ASE 160 SP03 PL09 and above - running on UNIX OS:

• Applications failing to connect to dataserver.  
• dataserver process no longer exists at OS level.
• ASE errorlog does not contain corresponding SHUTDOWN records or any error messages
   
• NOTE: On systems running SAP applications:
  
  The last set of messages in the ASE errorlog before the ASE dataserver process terminates silently, refer to REORGs on saptools' tables
  
  server  REORG REBUILD of index 'DBH_STG_TABLES~1' on table 'DBH_STG_TABLES' in database 'saptools' completed.
  
  The timestamp coincides with that of the "Tables" and/or "Indexes" collector runs spawned from DBACockpit ie. noon or midnight (these collectors run every 12hrs)
