Tables in Commerce grow along with your daily business and operation, due to the data management policy SAP will not remove any data automatically, it is your responsibility to design and manage the data retention polity for your DB tables, otherwise the endlessly growing tables will lead to high DB resource consumption and cause severe performance issue, or even business down situation.
