Symptom
During initial integration of SAP SuccessFactors Learning and SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite, there are some best practices that should be taken to avoid being locked out of the system.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Learning
- SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
Resolution
After receiving the initial login information for Learning, access Learning administration through Native access. Native access is the [lms root URL]/learning/admin/nativelogin.jsp along with the username and password received through the provisioning email.
Upon logging in and before setting up integration:
- Go to System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > LMS_ADMIN
- Edit restrictUserSelfModification to be false. This is as a secondary precaution in case a role is not associated to the admin account that will be created.
Create an Admin account:
- Go to System Administration > Security > Administrators
- Select Add New
- Fill in the appropriate information and keep them in the PUBLIC domain
- After the admin is created make sure to access the record and provide them the ALL role in the Assigned Roles tab
- Set a password for this admin account
- Apply Changes
Create a User account:
- Go to People > Users
- Select Add New
- Create the user with all the default information
- In the user record, set a password > Save
- Go back to System Administration > Security > Administrators and search for the admin account created
- In the admin record, fill in the Related User with the user account created > Apply Changes
Ensure Bizx account created for LMS admin account:
- Utilize the user Import Basic Data import to create the userID in Bizx as a PWD user or ensure SSO user account is created in Bizx with same Bizx userID as the LMS admin account to be used.
- Provide Manage Learning RBP.
Setup the Integration:
- Go to System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > BIZX
- Update the appropriate information as specified in the Partner Implementation Guide
Only enable integration if the above has been setup or if there will not be a need to redo/remove integration. If integration has to be disabled:
- Login via [lms root URL]/learning/user/nativelogin.jsp as the User account created before
- Access Learning Administration through the Admin tab
- Go to System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > BIZX
- Set successFactorsLearningEnabled to false > Apply Changes
- This will allow you to login via the native admin login
