Symptom

  • A load tran fails with error 688 :

    Error: 688, Severity: 21, State: 2
    Insufficient CFS while redo of expanding update on page 113098430 belonging to object 573268523. CFS - 447, length of new row - 547
  • After this error, the database is suspect and further operations or re-try of load fail :

    Msg 926, Level 14, State 2:
    Server 'SID', Line 1:
    Database 'SID' cannot be opened. An earlier attempt at recovery marked it 'suspect'. Check the ASE errorlog for information as to the cause.

    Msg 2244, Level 16, State 3:
    Server 'SID', Line 1:
    LOAD TRANSACT Error: Unable to open database SID.
