Time Off Alert sent out even though the leaves are cancelled.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure a post save business rule on Employee Time Object to trigger Alert.
  2. Submit a future leave and get it approved - This will create an Alert entry with effective date in future. 
  3. Cancel the leave created in step 2.
  4. Alert mail sent to recipient when Alert Effective Date = Today.


This is currently expected behavior as the leave cancellation will not delete future pending alerts. 


  • This limitation will be addressed with the product enhancement TIM-21286 which is confirmed for 1H 2022 release.
  • From 1H 2022, If you do not want system to sent future dated alerts for cancelled absences, then an IF condition needs to be added to the alert rule as shown below:
