3081721 - Emails not able to be sent due to javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException

Symptom

When attempting to send an email from Commerce, you get an error similar to the following:

Emails were able to be sent successfully in the past, only after creating and deploying a build after the Commerce Cloud 2106 update did the problem start.

Note: Similar errors can also be observed with any third-party server communication, the impact is not limited only to email servers.
