3084266 - Error Message "Value NORM is Missing in CTD Item Processing Type Determination" During Scoping

Symptom

You are trying to complete your project's scoping, but when you click the Finish button, system raises error message "Value NORM is missing in CTD Item Processing Type Determination."

Environment

 SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Access the Implementation Projects work center view.
  3. Select the First Implementation project and click Edit Project Scope.
  4. Proceed with scoping elements and questions as intended, navigating through the scoping wizard.
  5. At either Step 5 - Review or Step 6 - Confirmation, click Finish.
  6. Error message is raised.

Cause

One of the possible causes for this issue is if Sales Orders and/or the Opportunities is scoped, but not Sell Standard Products.

Without Sell Standard Products scoped, the system cannot generate relevant item processing type needed for the Sales Order/Opportunity scenarios and thus the error message is raised.

Resolution

If you intend to have Sales Orders and/or Opportunities scoped, please ensure that Sell Standard Products is also scoped:

    1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
    2. Access the Implementation Projects work center view.
    3. Select the First Implementation project and click Edit Project Scope.
    4. Navigate to Step 3 - Scoping.
    5. Expand the Sales option.
    6. Next, expand the Product and Service Portfolio for Sales.
    7. Mark the box for scoping element Sell Standard Products.
