Symptom
Is there a way to update the Evergreen Job Requisitions automatically from the child Requisitions?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
Although the Evergreen requisition has a parent-child relationship with the requisitions created and liked as child, the system still treats the Job Requisitions and it's data as distinct requisition, which both are.
The child requisitions, although linked to the parent on the "Child Requisitions" field, they work as a separate, independent Job Requisition, and none of the data changes done in neither Parent or Child is reflected to one another. This is because the Evergreen requisition is only a way for organizing and centralizing the Recruiting process, having candidates applying to one specific requisition. Some more information on that can be seen on article https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2858683
Now, as they work as two separate independent requisitions, the application also is a different application in between requisitions, with different Application Ids. If an applicant is moved from one status to another on the Child Requisition, the application of this candidate on the Parent record will not be updated. Another example is if a candidate is Hired on a Child Requisition, the number of openings for example will not be updated on the Parent Evergreen Requisition.
A way to make this sync happen in between requisitions, as there isn't a standard or native functionality to do it, would be to develop a custom integration, that could be based on Intelligent Services Center using the Update of Job Application, or Update of Job Application Status events, and with that trigger an integration to update the Parent/Child related requisition. That would require a partner to develop, since there are multiple moving parts, and your specific scenario would need to be considered on building the integration.
