Symptom
- In the Manage Service Orders app, when a service confirmation is cancelled, the related service order item is automatically set to Completed.
- After this change, the item status cannot be changed back to another status (for example, from Completed to Released).
- If the overall service order is set to Completed, the Create Follow-Up action may become unavailable.
- As a result, it is not possible to create a new service confirmation for the affected service order item, and the system does not display any items available for confirmation.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
This is standard system behavior in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
- Once a service confirmation is cancelled, the related service order item remains in Completed status and cannot be reopened or reconfirmed.
- Additionally, when the overall service order reaches Completed status, follow-up actions may be restricted at header level in the Manage Service Orders app.
Resolution
Reconfirmation of the original service order item is not supported once its service confirmation has been cancelled.
If the service order is still in a status that allows follow-up processing:
- Create a new service order item within the same service order.
- Release the new item.
- Create a new service confirmation for the new item.
If the overall service order has already reached Completed status and follow-up processing is no longer available, a new service order may be required.
The original service order item cannot be reused or reopened once its service confirmation has been cancelled.
