3087808 - You are not Able to Close a Payment in View All Mode due to Error: 'You are not authorized to change the data'

You notice that a user has no write access to Payment Monitor screen, however if they open a payment in View All mode and then click "X" to close the screen, the system raises an error that they do not have approval to change data. The user is then not able to close the payment (nor via Close button nor via "X" buttons).

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Logon with a user with no write access to Payment Monitor.
2. Go to Payment Management work center.
3. Go to Payment Monitor view.
4. Open any In Transfer / Ready for Transfer / Confirmed  Payment in View All Mode.

 You see that the Info message is raised: You are not authorized to change the data

5. Click to Close the payment.

The following error is also raised: 'You are not authorized to change the data'

 You are then not able to close the payment.

This would be the current system design to in order to enforce the write access restriction. When you access the payment in View All mode, certain logic calls are made for which write access is required. If a user only has read access, they will encounter the mentioned error and the screen will remain open. This logic must process in the way it currently does and lack of write access will lead to this error.

In order to close the payment screen, you can either use the Close All button ('X' button located at the bottom right side of the screen), which closes all tabs, or you can navigate back to the overview screen ('You can also' => 'Open overview'). From the overview, a user with read-only access is able to close the payment, as write access is not required to close the overview.
