3088058 - SUM: Error in batch processing "SUBST_START_REPORT_IN_BATCH" key : VARIANT_INSERT_VARIANT_LOCKED

Symptom

You are performing ABAP system update/upgrade via SUM (Software Update Manager). An error occurred in a phase in which SUM starts report in batch. For example: MAIN_POSTPROC/SUBMOD_MIG_BI_TASKS_POSTP1/RUN_TMP_TABLE_DROP.

In the log file ".../SUM/abap/log/SAPupConsole.log", there is the following error.

were negative!

Last error code set:
RFC system SBP nr 60 function 'SUBST_START_REPORT_IN_BATCH'
RFC failed with code 5 key VARIANT_INSERT_VARIANT_LOCKED:
