3088127 - App Manage Project Billing gives error "You cannot create BDR for future-dated prepayment amount"

In app Manage Project Billing, selection on Billing Items where "Contract Type" is "Time and Expenses" or "Fixed Price", "Item Usage" is "Down Payment Request" and "Billing Due Date" is a future date gives error "You cannot create BDR for future-dated prepayment amount".

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Create Customer Project and with a Billing Items where "Contract Type" is "Time and Expenses", "Item Usage" is "Down Payment Request" and "Billing Due Date" is a future date.
2. In Manage Project Billing app select Billing Element that has Down Payment Request with future date, click on Prepayment, in the popup click on Submit.
3. Receive error in popup "You cannot create BDR for future-dated prepayment amount".

The current design does not allow prepayments (down payments or payment on account) in the future as the view is per billing element. If there are multiple future prepayments planned across multiple months then it is unclear what should be allowed to be billed.

Create an Improvement Request via SAP Customer Influence or if the IR already exists then up-vote it.
