Symptom

  • No SAP Systems listed.
  • In SAP Logon, it displays the list of SAP Systems.
  • When creating a report based on an SAP Data Source, it does not show the list of SAP Systems in Crystal Reports.
  • The list of SAP Systems is blank in Crystal Reports, when configuring the SAP Logon to read the list of SAP Systems in a central location using option CoreLandscapeFileOnServer

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2016
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2020

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure the SAP Logon to read the list of SAP Systems in a central location by setting the registry key: CoreLandscapeFileOnServer

  2. In Crystal Reports, create a new report.

  3. In the "Database Expert", under "Create New Connection", select an SAP data source like: "SAP BW MDX Query"

  4. The list of SAP Systems is blank.

Cause

  • The list of SAP Systems is empty because Crystal Reports reads the SAP Systems information stored in the files:
    - SAPUILandscape.xml; or
    - saplogon.ini

Found in one of the following path:
    - Path defined in the registry key: SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE    ( Crystal Reports 2016 with Support Pack 07 and higher )
    - C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\
    - C:\Windows\

  • Crystal Reports does not supporting reading the List of SAP Systems stored in the central location set by the registry key: CoreLandscapeFileOnServer

Resolution

  • To show the list of SAP Systems in Crystal Reports, copy the SAP Logon file: SAPUILandscape.xml in one of the following path:
    • C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\
    • C:\Windows\

  • But if the SAP Logon was configured to read the file set using the registry key: SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE:
    • Ensure your file is located in the path defined in the registry key: SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE
    • Ensure you are using Crystal Reports 2016 with Support Pack 07 or higher.
