SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

3089164 - Error: 'The existing report is not an SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise document. Only SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise documents can be overwritten.'

Symptom

  • Unable to save a report.
  • Error when saving a report to the server.
  • Able to save newly created reports to the server from Crystal Reports for Enterprise, but not existing reports.
  • After modifying an existing report, and attempting to save it from Crystal Reports for Enterprise to the SAP BusinessObjects BI Server, it fails with the error:
      
    "The existing report '<Report Name>' is not an SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise document.
      Only SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise documents can be overwritten."
