3089498 - Error 3689 during boot - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The ASE errorlog shows message 3689 in the boot sequence :

Error: 3689, Severity: 17, State: 1
Cannot allocate shared memory as 'max memory' limit of '3072000' pages has been reached. Please increase configuration parameter 'max memory' to allow additional shared memory allocation. Total physical memory allocated so far '3072000' pages. 

  • The error is typically seen after upgrading.
